Empowering Women Through Firearms Education
Welcome to Montana's Premier Women's Shooting Community
D & D Redoubt proudly facilitates the Deer Lodge County chapter of A Girl & A Gun Women's Shooting League—the largest women-only firearms organization in America.
Whether you've never touched a firearm or you're an experienced shooter looking for community and challenge, AG&AG provides a supportive, encouraging, women-only environment where you can learn, practice, and grow.
No judgment. No condescension. No intimidation. Just women supporting women.
What is A Girl & A Gun?
A Girl & A Gun Women's Shooting League is a membership organization whose focus is on educating and empowering women in a fun, social environment.
Founded in 2011, AG&AG has grown to over 200 chapters nationwide, serving thousands of women from complete beginners to competitive champions.
Our Mission
To provide a safe, encouraging environment for women to learn and practice firearms skills. We believe that firearms proficiency is a valuable life skill, and that learning should be enjoyable, supportive, and accessible to all women.
Why Women-Only?
Many women feel more comfortable learning firearms skills in a women-only environment. There's no pressure, no showing off, no mansplaining—just women helping women learn at their own pace.
A Girl & A Gun is the largest women's shooting league in America, with chapters from coast to coast.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to own a gun to join?
Absolutely not! Many of our members started with no firearm and no experience. We have firearms available to borrow during events, and we'll help you learn the fundamentals before you make any purchase decisions.
I've never shot a gun. Will I be behind?
Not at all! We welcome complete beginners and adapt our instruction to meet you where you are. Some of our best shooters started as total novices with AG&AG.
What should I bring to my first event?
Just bring yourself! We provide eye and ear protection, targets, and instruction. If you have a firearm, bring it along with 100–200 rounds of ammunition. If not, we'll provide everything you need.
Are men allowed at events?
AG&AG events are women-only to maintain our supportive, pressure-free learning environment. However, we occasionally host mixed-gender social events or fundraisers.
What age range are your members?
We have members from 18 to 75+. Firearms proficiency is for all ages, and we love our multi-generational community.
Can I bring a friend to check it out?
Yes! First-time guests are always welcome. If your friend likes it and wants to keep coming, she'll need to become a member.
Do you teach concealed carry?
Yes! We regularly cover concealed carry topics and techniques. Many of our members carry daily and are happy to share their experience.
